3 or 4 Minutes

North Korea released this statement, today, about a “Special Operation Action Group,” ambitiously proposing the annihilation of South Korea within a very narrow timeframe:

Once the above-said special actions kick off, they will reduce all the rat-like groups and the bases for provocations to ashes in three or four minutes, in much shorter time, by unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style.

The ipoetlaureate has received additional details about the “unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style.” I took the liberty of making an English translation reduced to music which also reprises arguably the most famous rap line I’ve ever written (@ 1:40).

Words ostensibly by Kim Jung Un. Translated and performed by the ipoetlaureate. Music produced by djclutch.

The Unprecedented Peculiar Means and Methods of Our Own Style

  1. The way in which you reduced our rat-like existence into ashes with this rap utilizing the methods of your own style was sooo peculiar AND unprecedented!

On another note, I’m really glad you finally got to post up that TED talk. Despite the technical difficulties it was really well done man. I think the end-product was great. I hope it eventually gets promoted to the main TED forum and gets you the exposure your deserve!

  2. I remember hearing the line you said about ole’ Metta (back when he was Ron Artest) and my friend flipped thinking it was the best thing ever. Me? I always thought your use of Dy-lan’s (pronounced “die-lawn” for those who didn’t watch the show) tendency to not show up, to be more notable.

Guess it all depends on what mattered more to you at the time, huh?

I found this news bit to be…just odd. It almost seems like something a kid would say, which then caused me to pause and consider just how little I know of that country’s requirements for those who handle their press release. Not to just toss out an old school american concept (circa…I think the 50’s or 60’s) but, maybe North Korea is working through their period of a “newsboy legion” (NOT to be confused by the oft adored Christian band of similar name).

I never did seek to follow this up, though. Did they actually DO anything? Or was this just more Kanye West-ian styled self-hype, by a place still reeling from making a fool of themselves on a national scale? (referring, of course, to the ‘tumbling missle crisis,’ covered by ipoet laureate on this very site, not too long ago)

  3. @Conduct, N. Korea hasn’t followed through. And, that’s funny because I think a lot of dudes didn’t even catch the Dylan reference. Or that it related to my song “When I Don’t Show.”

@Sam, I really appreciate it. I’m glad you liked the presentation. The day was super dope and the response has been great. But, it literally could have been another 50% better. I’m glad you agreed my methods were so unprecedented.
