G.I.

I’m getting backed up.

Wait, that didn’t sound right.

A terrible tragedy of a high school shooting in OH, yesterday. Couldn’t get to it last night. Plus, Michigan and Arizona Republican primaries. Hopefully, one or both this evening.

The good folks over at CriminalJusticeDegreesGuide.com shared this link with me. A list of the all-time top ten best prison songs. It combines my two favorite things: ranking and horizontal stripes. I actually can use the extra 10 pounds a great striped shirt hangs on you in a photo.

Plus, it respectably features one of the most powerful songs of my youth, Public Enemy’s Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos. The list is a pretty good spectrum of genre and era.

My only prison song here. But, it happens to be my favorite.

  1. I’m a fan of the old school horizontal stripped prison uniforms too. Dunno why, they just speak to me more than the current clemantine colored ones.

Its funny that site has a list of the all time favorite prison songs in it. I’ll have to see if they have both “jailhouse rock” and Akon’s “Locked Up” are on the list. Both are silly songs to me, each for their own reasons.

This has been a crazy week for news. Did you hear about the Navy finally fessing upto having rail-gun tech?

Politics, tragedies, and high powered weapons. man O man…

  2. @Conduct, didn’t see the Navy story. Crazy. Jailhouse Rock was on there. I love the list. And, the topical specificity of the songs is obviously in keeping with what we do here.
